Artist's Statement

Painting is my way of exploring the world. Moments of awe in the familiar, the common, are my inspiration. I hope to convey the emotion I feel when noticing and experiencing these slices of time.

Painting in watercolor is my passion. I covet the unexpected miracles that happen in watercolor – it’s a dance between control and letting the colors mix and sing for themselves. Luminescent light and color sometimes result; when they do, I am delighted.

I have had several solo and joint shows in various galleries and establishments, am a Signature Member of the Kansas Watercolor Society and have artwork in numerous private collections.
