Artist's Statement

Born and raised in Newton, Kansas, my adventure into photography began when I clerked in the newsroom at the Newton Kansan Newspaper, joining the staff when I was a senior at Newton High School. One day the news editor handed me a camera, and I was told to “go out and shoot some pictures, and when you get back I will show you how to develop the film.” My interest in photography has continued to grow since that time.

My desire is to capture and share just a moment of God’s creation and creativity. I am very happy to be a part of Newton’s Fourth Tuesday Photography Club at the Library, and Great Plains Nature Photographers.
