Artist's Statement
As a western Kansas born and raised girl, I have always had a love for the American west and all the animals, landscapes, and sunsets that can be found there. So, naturally, that is what my art represents. A great deal of my art education came from my mother, who was an artist herself, and, of course, afternoon Bob Ross episodes. I went on to study art at Fort Hays State University where I received a degree in art and art education. After college I went on to teaching and I am currently teaching high school art right here in Kansas.
While I love helping students create their own masterpieces, I also love attempting to create my own masterpieces. Oil painting has been my passion for a long time, but I have recently branched out into pen and ink with watercolors. Maybe someday, I will narrow my vision and pick one medium over the other, but for now, I do both. The subject has not changed though. I still love to focus on the American west including paintings of cattle, horses, buffalo, and American wildlife.
Thank you for visiting my artist page, and I hope you enjoy looking through my artwork just as much as I love creating it!
