Artist's Statement

Wichita native Heather Pray-Edmondson isn’t your typical photographer. Sure, she can capture a breathtaking landscape or a stunning close-up with the best of them. But for Heather, beauty transcends the ordinary. It’s a rabbit hole she loves to tumble down, seeking the extraordinary in the everyday. Whether it’s a burst of color or the delicate details within a flower, Heather’s lens reveals the hidden wonder of the world around us.

Heather’s artistic journey began in high school under the tutelage of the inspiring Dale Strattman. But life took her down different paths for a while. Now, after more than 30 years, she’s back, fueled by that same passion and armed with her camera.

Photography has become more than just an art form for Heather; it’s a tool for self-discovery and growth. By stepping outside her comfort zone, she’s embraced the art fair scene, where her work has resonated with buyers and critics alike. Her pieces have been seen in the Carriage Factory Gallery in Newton, KS, The Workroom in Wichita, KS, Gallery 12 in Wichita, KS and Buttonwood Art Space in Kansas City as well as various art fair events in the Wichita and surrounding area.
