DESCRIPTION:Join artist Barb Mizik for an encaustic art exploration workshop on November 16\, 10 AM – 4 PM. \nEncaustic is an ancient art medium using bee’s wax combined with damar resin and oil pigment for color. Today\, it is one of the most versatile mediums used by many contemporary artists. In this class you will learn to apply molten wax onto wood substrates to create 3-6 paintings. Barb will demo techniques and you will then have the opportunity to try them on your own. Techniques include carving\, stenciling\, texture\, collage and more. \n\nPlease bring 4-6 birch panels/cradleboards with a range of sizes. Maximum size 10×10.  See below for links to purchase panels.
