DESCRIPTION:Join artist Barb Mizik for this exciting Encaustic Workshop. Saturday\, October 18\, 9 AM-4 PM. Bring a lunch or enjoy something from a downtown restaurant. \nWe will learn about: \n– Priming your surface \n– Fusing between layers \n– Various ways to apply encaustic medium \n– Adding marks with pastels\, wax crayons\, \nalcohol inks and more \n– Building up layers and scraping your surface \n– Carving/Incising into the wax and \nfilling it with medium or oil stick \n– Using stencils with encaustic medium. \nStencils will be provided \n– Making transfers with prints or magazines. \nSee supply list for details \n– Collage with found objects and papers \n– Finishing and Cleaning edges \nThis process involves using hot wax\, heat guns and oil paint so wear closed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting messy. \n$100 per student.
