Sashiko Embroidery with Dena Bisnette
April 18 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

April 18, 1-4 PM
Join Dena Bisnette and learn the art of Shashiko Embroidery. Shashiko is a Japanese technique that originated as a method of mending clothing, but is now considered a form of embroidery. It consists of running stitches – only minimal sewing skills are necessary for this class.
Participants will learn to make decorative patches of denim and cotton. The patches can later be sewn to textile items like clothing, bags, or home decor. We will explore some traditional Japanese as well as non-traditional designs.
All needed supplies and tools will be provided. This class is for participants of any age able to use a needle and manipulate fabric by hand. Designs may not be the same as shown here.
Age 10 and under need to be accompanied by an adult.
$45 per student. Register by April 11* on our website or by calling or coming by the gallery.
no refunds issued after registration deadline unless class minimum is not met.
