Artist's Statement
My interest in photography started in grade school. I remember my grandmother’s flash camera well. At the time, I was more interested in having a flash like hers and I was intrigued with the camera components more than actually taking photos.
In my middle and high school grades, my interest in photography grew. My brother and I built a darkroom for black and white photography. I took sports pictures at my brother’s sporting events and then sold them — my first experience with sales!
I do photography because I want to be creative. I’m intrigued to be able to capture what I see. My mom encouraged the whole family in the arts.
