Artist's Statement

After 20 plus years in Alaska, I’m back home in Kansas. I paint the beauty of God’s landscapes on canvases, tiles, glass, plates – just about anything I can find.

My formal art training came through a couple of Newton High classes, a year with a professional artist in Anchorage and a few of classes at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

I’ve seen a lot of the US, but when I first moved to AK in the early 70’s, never had I seen such beautiful landscapes. Life happened and I headed back to California in 1980. In 2007 the door opened back to Alaska where I lived in Fairbanks for twelve plus years and I started painting again. In 2019 I was instructed to move back to Newton to start afresh – again. The town has changed but the people haven’t, especially all my ’68 classmates who welcomed me home!

I’ve done numerous gallery showings, bazaars, art fairs & these items have been available in curios shops throughout the interior of Alaska. I’ve been accepted in several juried shows and exhibits at the Carriage Factory gallery, have shown in Norms Coffee Bar, the Newton City Library, and in the Coutt’s Museum, Hutchison Art Center and Lindsborg’s Courtyard Gallery gift shop.

Thank you for allowing me the time to share my love for Alaska/Kansas via the expanding line of art products. Come see this combined collection of God’s Country – Alaska and Kansas!
