Artist's Statement
Art was always a part of my life growing up and into adulthood. However, it wasn’t until after a move to Wichita, KS in 2014, when my passion for painting was re-ignited. While attending the Autumn & Art at Bradley Fair art show, I met a few pastel artists who shared their passion and insights. This introduction into the world of pastels ultimately lead me to where I am now – honing my craft as a pastel artist.
The medium spoke to me immediately! The array of colors laid out before me, the dust on my hands and the ability to paint and draw all rolled into one painting. Seeing the immediate results was invigorating. I truly enjoy exploring the various ways to use this medium.
Capturing the beauty of nature in landscapes is always a must for me. However, at the present time, I am painting wherever inspiration takes me.
I am a member of the MidAmerica Pastel Society where I was juried into their Fall 2023 online Exhibition as an Emerging Artist.
I was also juried into the Carriage Factory Art Gallery – Kansas Through The Eyes Of An Artist – Exhibition 2024. Awarded an Honorable Mention.
Currently I am a member artist displaying a selection of paintings at the Carriage Factory Art Gallery in Newton, KS.
I have held numerous local shows in Wichita, KS.
