Artist's Statement

My grandmother was a painter and encouraged me to start painting by passing down her equipment to me when I was in High School. I began taking every single art course offered in school and completely fell in love with painting. I am influenced by everything from music and Tv shows to natural landscapes and the human body. I recently graduated from Wichita State University with a BFA in Studio Art Painting. I work mainly in Oil, Silkscreen, and Watercolor mediums. My work is focused on the dynamic relationship between the figure and its surrounding space.
